The 39th session of the Working Party on the Standardization of Technical and Safety Requirements in Inland Navigation (UNECE – Inland Transport Committee) was held from 15 to 17 June 2011 in Geneva which was attended by representatives of 13 countries, as well as the representatives of International Sava River Basin Commission, Danube Commission and the Central Commission on the Navigation of the Rhine, as well as the delegation of the EU.
The Working Party considered the amendments to Resolution No. 61 (Chapters 1 and 2), special provisions for river-sea navigation vessels, the minimum technical requirements for computers installed on vessels, the mutual recognition of boatmasters’ certificates, the future co-operation on the establishing of the European vessel database, the draft plan for future work on CEVNI, the amendment proposals to be submitted to the 55th session of the Transport Committee, the new amendment proposals to CEVNI, the strategic development of inland waterway infrastructure, Resolution 59, the establishing of common principles and technical requirements for a Pan-European River Information Services (RIS), Resolution 48, the proposals to UNECE recommendations related to the Maritime Mobile Service identifiers, the Pan-European Rules on General Limitation of Liability in Inland Navigation, the recreational navigation, and co-operation with the EU, River Commissions and other international organizations concerned with the inland navigation matters..
